Wild Country Found is the online home of all my wanderings, hijinks, questionable shenanigans, and travel-logs. It’s the place I’ve dedicated to my 5-9 life, my weekend world in the mountains, and of course my selfish desire to be submerged in the wilderness even when I’m stuck in the city. I hope you can find some inspiration here, and if not that, then at least a few laughs.

My name is Kara Kieffer. I grew up in Boulder, CO, moved around a lot, and currently reside in Los Angeles, CA.
I guess most people would look at my professional work and call me a creative person. Then those same people would look at my choice of weekend adventures and call me a crazy person. They’re both right. I love being in the mountains. I love everything about being outside, having adventures, and climbing hills. Even when it sucks I love it. You can find me on a hill-side someplace.
